The Elwha RV Park Story

The Elwha RV Park sits inside a mature evergreen forest alongside the Olympic National Forest and the Elwha River gorge; former home of the Lower Elwha Dam.

If you are into biking, rock-hounding, hiking, catching sunsets, bird-watching, hydroponics & gardens, or simply soaking in nature’s best, this is the place for you!

We love sharing a space & environment which empowers you to escape, reset, & rejuvenate.

Although the dams have been removed from the river, the park has retained the name. David and Chris agree with the previous owner, that “It will always be the site of the old dam, so it will still be ‘The Best RV Park by a Dam Site’.” Be sure and check out the information page on the Elwha Dam history and its removal.

You’ll find this park conveniently located just off of Scenic Highway 112, by the beautiful Elwha River Canyon and the former Elwha Dam site. It’s a peaceful setting in the woods, convenient to fishing, boating, and beachcombing on the North Olympic Coast, as well as hiking and biking trails in the Olympic National Park.

Come join us for a night, or a longer visit, and see why the Elwha Dam RV Park is such a welcoming place to stay.

Centrally located, Elwha RV Park is placed conveniently just minutes from the Olympic National Park and six miles from Port Angeles with shops & restaurants and the Victoria, BC Ferry. The first ocean beach and the Olympic Discovery Trail are only a couple miles from our campground. Not too much further on is our beautiful glacial Lake Crescent, the Olympic National Park waterfall trailheads, and the Hoh Rainforest.

With private woodsy sites and big rig pull-throughs, RV tips & guidance, personalized concierge services, eBike rentals, and wood-fired pizza nights, you will want to make the Elwha RV Park your “home away from home”!

About the Elwha RV Park Owners

David, Chris, and their family have always had fun with the wilderness. They come from a ranch in Eastern Washington where they worked together in hospitality for many years, so making the switch to the Elwha area and RV Park seemed to be the perfect fit for them.

David and Chris manage the RV park with their family and an expanding team.

They are eager to serve and share their expert knowledge of the incredible natural wonders around them.

They say it still feels like yesterday when they searched over a year to find the perfect park.

They say, “It was hard to find a place that has the best of all worlds, but here at the Elwha it seems we do: It has a peaceful healing vibe, with majesty all around: the mountain peaks that stand in the distance; the splendor of the forest, lakes, and waterfalls; the Straight of Juan De Fuca and ocean experience 5 minutes away; a Victoria, BC international experience just a boat ride away; plus a community of service that suits a family’s needs.

Port Angeles truly is a unique place.

Elwha Dam RV Park makes the Top 5 WA RV Parks in RVtravel Guide

Elwha Dam RV Park jokingly refers to itself as the “Best RV Park next to a Dam Site,” but this is a great park for local access to Washington’s best attractions. RV sites come with full utility hookups along with free Wi-Fi throughout the park. The restrooms, showers and laundry facilities are kept clean and sparkling for your enjoyment. A camp store supplies you with firewood, propane, and some RV parts. The whole campground is shaded by massive trees and patrolled by security 24/7. The Port Angeles area is home to some spectacular sights and sounds. Olympic National Park is nearby and open for hiking, biking, or scenic drives with its coastal areas and dense old growth forests. Some of the best attractions in Olympic include Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, the Sol Duc region, Madison Falls, and the Elwha River. It’ll be difficult to run out things to do at Olympic National Park.

Other Elwha Dam RV Park Awards

Elwha Dam RV Park is one of the few parks that has received 10 consecutive awards of the year for the Best Business Hall of Fame and Best of Port Angeles Award in the Recreational Vehicle Parks category by the U.S. Commerce Association in Washington, DC.
